Elk and Venison Sloppy Joes with Lawhorns – Now That is a Tasty Meal

Got a freezer full of everything you shot last year, and trying to figure out how to make room for this year’s kill? Here’s another great recipe that doesn’t take a genius to figure out. And it takes just 20 minutes from start to finish! Traditional sloppy joes with two amazing additions – Jimmy Sites harvested Elk and Venison Meat and Lawhorn’s Signature Seasonings. Add in brown sugar, onions, diced tomatoes, barbecue sauce, ketchup, worcester sauce, apple cider vinegar – put it all in a pan, sautee it – and you’ve got it.

INGREDIENTS:

1lb- Ground Elk

1lb-Ground Venison

1/2 stick REAL Butter

1/2 Jar-Heinz Chili Sauce

1-cup Sweet BBQ Sauce

4tbs- Lea & Perrin’s Worcestershire Sauce

1/2cup Brown Sugar

1 large Onion medium chopped

5TBS- LAWHORN’S SIGNATURE SEASONINGS

8-12 Potato Buns(the best)

1- large- non-stick sauté pan w/lid

DIRECTIONS

Sautee the onion, seasoning and meat together in butter over med-high heat until lightly browned. DO NOT let meat over-cook! Reduce heat to medium and add the rest of the ingredients, put on the lid, and simmer for 15 minutes. DONE! SLOP it on a bun and go to it! (you can let it simmer longer, but if you’re in a hurry, this is good to go!) If you want a thicker saucy kind of Joe, then let it simmer for about 1/2 hour and keep stirring so it doesn’t burn on the bottom.

Lawhorn’s also smooths out any “gamey” flavor perfectly for a tremendous simple meal for any outdoor enthusiast’s family. Simple and delicious even with ground beef from the store, just in case you haven’t brought down any Elk lately.
