This awesome “football food” dish is about as simple as it gets to prepare and cook like a Pro! It is truly one of our all-time favorite things to cook at our own . Your 10 yr old can do this for you while you man the cooler! Your friends will bow in your presence after they try one of these magic morsels!
2lb skinless chicken breast strips about 1 ½” X 1” (about 10-12 strips per pound)
1/2lb. thick-sliced Applewood or Pecan-smoked bacon
3-4 Tbs. Lawhorn’s Signature Seasonings Original or Hickory Smoked Blends
¼ cup Fresh Garlic Butter
8-10 – 10″ skewers
1. Cut bacon slices in half; lay flat in front of you on a clean cutting board. Season the chicken on all sides and place each tender on the closest edge of the bacon to you and roll up nice and tight, leaving some chicken exposed on both sides.
2. If you’re using metal skewers, then just slide on all the wrapped tenders on them leaving ½” space between them. If you’re using wooden skewers, then you need to soak them in water overnight so they don’t catch fire and burn up on the grill. . Cook on a medium-hot grill for 7-10 minutes, depending on your doneness preferences. While cooking, roll the tenders and brush with garlic butter when you turn them. Make sure some of the butter hits the flame for some smoke action!
VARIATION: Just before pulling the tenders off the grill, brush your favorite BBQ sauce on all sides and let it caramelize. For a spicy, Asian twist, use some chili sauce with garlic and just a “smidgen” of Sirachi sauce mixed in for that extra kick!!
